Dear valued members, 

On behalf of the Scenic crew and management teams, we’re delighted to share the first issue of Wonder Moments with you. We have had feedback from our valued guests that they would like to receive more regular and engaging communication about the new, exciting journeys and experiences we offer. 

This regular Wonder Moments newsletter will provide insights into what is happening in the world of Scenic ocean, river and land journeys. As well as sharing insights and memorable experiences from guests, spotlighting interesting destinations; and showcasing special cruises and tours that are only available to you, our valued Scenic Club members. 

This month, learn more about the Chairman’s Voyages, see how the Scenic Group will be expanding, gain insights into our research partnerships in East Antarctica and find out how you can join us on a special Scenic Club river cruise in Europe.

In April, 228 Scenic Club members set off from Taiwan to sail the idyllic southern islands of Japan on our second annual Chairman’s Voyage. On board was Scenic Group Founder & Chairman Glen Moroney, Karen Moroney and their daughter Mia.  

Guests enjoyed incredible experiences at each port, like a traditional Yokasoi dance performance, Okinawa Cave Concert, and an opera concert on the helideck as the ship farewelled Kobe. On board, the Scenic Eclipse culinary team created special meals and displays in the lounge, and VP of Oceans Hotel Operations, Tom Goetter, hosted an outdoor barbecue, and a curated selection of sakes was available throughout the voyage.

In October 2026, set sail from Amsterdam on the 15-day Romantic Rhine and Moselle cruise, travelling through The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France.  After being welcomed on board by Elisabeth Sadler, VP Rivers Product you will enjoy specially curated experiences both on your Scenic Space-Ship and on shore. From culinary experiences like a seafood gala dinner to a wine and cheese tasting, and cooking class hosted by the Scenic culinary team. 

When your cruise concludes in Basel, choose extend with a journey through the Swiss Alps culminating with a special dinner in Lucerne hosted by our Chairman & Founder Glen Moroney and the Scenic Group management team. Stay in grand mountaintop hotels, travel on legendary panoramic trains and marvel at breathtaking alpine scenery. 

Exciting times are ahead for Scenic and our sister brand Emerald Cruises with new ships and new destinations. 

Three new luxury yachts will be joining the Emerald Cruises fleet, building on the spectacular success of Emerald Azzurra and Sakara. These next-generation superyachts, Emerald Kaia, Emerald Raiya and Emerald Xara, will have an increased capacity for 128 guests, reimagined spaces and new culinary offerings. 

The Observation Sun Deck has more space with the addition of a Spa Pool and the cutting-edge Wellness Deck creates the ideal blend of well-being and maritime pursuits to revitalise body, mind and soul. The spectacular Owner’s Suites will feature a Spa Pool for two on their private terrace. You’ll also find an exciting new dining option on board, the authentic Night Market Grill, an intimate private experience for just eight guests. 

Emerald Kaia sets sail in late 2026, spending her first season in the Caribbean before cruising the Mediterranean and Adriatic from 2027. Emerald Raiya will join the Emerald Cruises family in April 2027, sailing the Eastern Mediterranean and Adriatic, then moving into the Red Sea and Seychelles. Emerald Xara will cruise the Mediterranean from April 2027 and the Caribbean from October 2027. 

On the rivers, Emerald Lumi will be the first ship for the line to cruise the Seine while Emerald Astra will join sister ships on the Rhine and Danube.

Accessible via New Zealand and Hobart, East Antarctica is one of the most remote places on the planet, a largely unexplored corner of the White Continent, that you can experience on one of our last three remaining voyages in this region in December 2025 to February 2026.  

With this opportunity comes a responsibility – to ensure that we protect these fragile environments and share their vital importance with our guests. Our Discovery Team are experts in their field and passionate about conservation, often working directly with experts on their research in the field. 

Two experts will be sailing to East Antarctica with Scenic Eclipse II again during the 2025/2026 season, undertaking important research and interacting with our guests. 

Ian Godfrey is the Head Conservator at the Mawson’s Huts Foundation. He will be visiting Cape Denison to monitor the stability and condition of the 112-year-old buildings on the <insert Mawson’s itinerary name/link>. 

Dr Louise Emmerson is Seabird Ecologist with the Australian Antarctic Division. She will be monitoring the Antarctic seabirds.
