Important Update on Danube & Rhine River Cruises – Low Water Levels

June 30, 2025

As you may be aware, Europe is currently experiencing a significant heatwave following an unusually warm spring. With little recent rainfall and no substantial precipitation in the forecast, we are continuing to see the effects of these conditions on water levels across the region.

These conditions are particularly impacting the upper Danube River at Pfelling (located between Regensburg and Passau), where water levels remain low. Similarly, we are observing declining levels on the Rhine River. These fluctuating and falling river levels are now beginning to affect navigation in certain areas, which may have implications for our cruise operations.

Our local operations team is actively adjusting sailing schedules to ensure our guest’s cruise experience continues with minimal disruption. In some cases, this may involve transferring guests to a sister ship or adjusting embarkation or disembarkation points to maintain the integrity of our itinerary.

We are closely monitoring the situation and remain in constant communication with local authorities and our nautical teams to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. Should any adjustments to itineraries become necessary, we will inform guests as a priority of changes to their upcoming cruise.
