It has been 16 years since we launched our loyalty programs in 2008, which was innovative and industry leading at the time, however, a lot has changed since then, and our guests have been providing feedback and requests to update the programs.
Since the introduction of our ultra‑luxury river ships, Discovery Yachts and expanded land journeys, our most loyal guests have shown a strong enthusiasm to explore more of our portfolio across both Scenic and Emerald.
We have listened closely to our valued members through forums, surveys, and direct conversations – with the consensus of opinion requesting a new program that’s combined across both brands and offers benefits, which truly enhance your travel experience.
Th new “Scenic and Emerald Rewards” loyalty program reflects the way our guests travel today: seamlessly across destinations, brands, and experiences. It’s designed to provide more clarity, broader recognition, and more flexibility in how you earn the status points and use your rewards.
One unified membership: Your separate Scenic and Emerald loyalty accounts will be combined into one “Scenic and Emerald Rewards” loyalty program membership, making it easier to earn points and track your rewards status across both brands.
Combined points balance: All points you’ve earned across either Scenic Club or EmeraldEXPLORER Explorer program will automatically merge into one single balance. Everything point you’ve earned previously is preserved and no members will lose points when the two programs are combined. In fact, some members may receive additional status points during the equalisation of the new loyalty tiers .
Status across both brands: Your tier status will be automatically be aligned to the new “Scenic and Emerald Rewards” loyalty program. The status points you have earnt on a Scenic cruise or land journey applies when you travel with Emerald Cruises & Tours, and vice versa.
Simplified tier structure: We’re reducing the number of tiers to create clearer pathways for progression.
Luxe Rewards: A key new feature and benefit is the introduction of special “Luxe Rewards”, giving you the ability to earn 1% of every booking, to be used as a part payment towards your next or future bookings on any Scenic or Emerald Cruise or land journey.
Recognition that travels: Earn and enjoy your status benefits across both Scenic and Emerald Cruises & Tours journeys. One membership, unlimited possibilities.
Ongoing benefits: We will continue to offer exciting rewards at each tier level, providing useful benefits, recognition and experiences, that enhance your journey rather than just discounts.
The new unified “Scenic and Emerald Rewards” loyalty program features only four core loyalty tiers, each one designed to reward your continued trust in us with experiences and benefits that enhance your journey. There are a number of changes happening to the tiers that may impact you.
We’re removing the Silver and Platinum tiers in each of the current loyalty programs, to create a clearer, more rewarding structure. If your current tier is being removed, you’ll automatically be upgraded to the next tier level — no one loses tier status, and many members will see an immediate elevation in their recognition.
Given we have not changed the value of the status points in more than 16 years and are now combining the two loyalty programs, we need to also adjust the number of status points to reach the tiers in the new program.
There will be an increase to the number of points needed to reach the Diamond, Emerald and Chairmans Club tiers, to better reflect the value and rewards offered at these levels. If you are an existing member in a tier where the points threshold is increasing, you’ll receive a top up points to ensure you keep the same tier as you currently are – to ensure that no member will go backwards on a loyalty tier.
To ensure you are an active participant of the new “Scenic and Emerald Rewards” loyalty program and confirm that you have received all the relevant information, each member will be required to “Opt-In” to receive updates via email.
We would appreciate your permission to keep you informed about the new program, special offers, the tier levels, combined loyalty status points balances, how to use the newly introduced ‘Luxe Rewards’, plus more details relating to the other benefits of the program.
Then, everything else happens automatically - your points will combine, your tier will be updated, and you’ll be ready to enjoy the enhanced new program.
